Lightspeed Champion

At the risk of being insanely over self referential, the below is taken from a mailout :

Experimental youth initiative Ctrl.Alt.Shift have joined forces with Oscar nominated Marjane Satrapi (Persepolis), and Dev Hynes (Lightspeed Champion) to launch their Unmasks Corruption competition.

The two artists will judge a competition along with Paul Gravett (Comica Director) to give people the chance to create a unique comic style story in collaboration with acclaimed musician and writer Dev Hynes aka Lightspeed Champion.

Those short listed will be given Lightspeed Champion's comic script as inspiration and asked to create a visual adaptation of the story.

The winning commission will be published in a comic alongside new work exploring the issue of corruption by some of comic’s greatest talents.

Ctrl.Alt.Shift is a community of self proclaimed “outspoken” individuals working to highlight corruption through their own magazine.

The work will also be showcased as part of a new exhibition later this year at Lazarides Gallery, Soho.
As well as being launched along with the book at a special event in November to take place at this years Comica Festival at The Institute Of Contemporary Arts (ICA) in London .

To enter the competition please send relevant examples of your visual work along with your contact details to Ctrl.Alt.Shift by Friday 25th September.

Email your examples to : comiccomp@ctrlaltshift.co.uk

P.s. I should add that this book will also feature a new comic by myself that I collaborated on with the wonderful Nicole Michalek and a new comic by the ever so talented Ferry Gouw who's amazing video for Major Laser - Hold The Line has just been nominated for an MTV VMA for BEST BREAKTHROUGH VIDEO.

Congratulations Ferry!
