In his final strip (incidentally published a day after his death on the 13th February 2000) Charles Schulz ends by saying of his cartoon friends who he has drawn over 50 years "Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus and Lucy.... how can I ever forget you..." Ringing true a sad undercurrent, that for me was always present within his art. One thing people may not be aware of is how big a Peanuts fan I truly am, and how much of a collection of memorabilia I have. Anyhow, I can honestly say many a life lesson and viewpoint was gained via Schulz's strips throughout my life.

Last weekend I went to a flea-market in Pasadena, and managed to come across two old prints. One of which featured Snoopy looking face up towards the sky in the rain thinking to himself "Rain falls on the hills and in the valleys.... on the just and just... and on my face!"

But possibly the saddest strip of Schulz's that I have ever read, is the penultimate strip.
Published 2nd January 2000.

I love Peanuts but I'm more of a Calvin and Hobbes fan really!

Dev's Movie Blog

One night, my room mate mentioned how it'd be pretty funny for someone to watch all the movies listed at the bottom of IMDB. I've started to, and it's not funny.
